Have you always wanted to learn to play an instrument but thought you couldn’t? Well, it’s not as hard as you think! Nancy and Margit also teach Mountain Dulcimer.
They have taught beginner classes at festivals in North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia and Alaska. If you already play but want to improve your skills, Nancy also teaches more advanced classes. If a group lesson is not your thing or unavailable, try private lessons.
Can’t read music? That’s ok. We teach how to play using Tab, which is playing by number. Margit is an example of someone who had no musical background before a dulcimer was placed in her lap but who has excelled in her performance on Mountain Dulcimer. She will also tell you that her mantra is PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.
Our goals for beginner classes is that students leave realizing that they can make music, that they want to learn more, and that learning to make music is fun.
